Kir Bulychev (Igor Mozheyko) (18.10.1934 - 09.05.2003). Born in Moscow. In 1957 he graduated from the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute of Foreign Languages named after Maurice Thorez. He worked as a translator and reporter APN in Burma as a correspondent in the magazine Around the World. In 1962 he graduated from the graduate school of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. From 1963 he worked at the Institute of Oriental Studies. In 1965 he defended his thesis on Paganskoe State (XI-XIII centuries). In 1981 he defended his doctoral thesis on The Buddhist Sangha and State in Burma. He began writing fiction in 1965.
