The Rat Trap

A quiet scheme, a marked man, and the trap he walks into knowing it is one. Le Queux wrote well over a hundred thrillers, claimed to have worked for British intelligence, and produced spy scares so convincing that questions were asked in Parliament about them. This edition adds fifty-nine plates of painting bound with the text, among them works by Walter Sickert, William Logsdail and Marianne North, dating from 1849 to 1920.
