The Life of Mansie Wauch

The autobiography of a Dalkeith tailor, written in the voice of a man who thinks his small life is a great one. Moir was a physician and wrote it for Blackwood's; it is the funniest Scottish book of its decade and the tailor is entirely serious throughout. This edition pairs the text with a gallery of 55 plates, among them paintings by Samuel Bough, George Reid and John Tenniel.
