Complete and unabridged, with 60 full-page plates by Thomas Lawrence, Thomas Hudson and Philip Jean. A second gathering of the West Country legends - the giants, the mermaids of Zennor, the drolls told by firelight in the mining villages. Hunt collected in the 1820s among people who had them from their grandparents. This edition is bound with a gallery of 60 plates, among them paintings by Joshua Reynolds, John William Waterhouse and Thomas Lawrence, and includes one restored and coloured in-text illustration.
