"Paradise Lost" by John Milton is an epic poem in blank verse from the 1600s. It is considered to be Milton's masterpiece, it was written through dictation after the author went blind. The poem depicts the fall of Lucifer from his rank as an angel, as well as Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden. Both stories culminate in the original sin of eating the forbidden fruit.
