Sure-Dart

Complete and unabridged, with 53 full-page plates by Carl Frederik Aagaard, Edvard Munch and Daniel Clowes. Stone-age hunters in a prehistoric Colorado of palms, cycads and a great inland sea, where the game is the great beasts of the age of monsters and much of it hunts back. Costello admits in his preface that he has put men on the scene rather earlier than science allows, gives a table of the modern names of his creatures, and then keeps the chase moving from the first page to the last. Fifty-three plates from 1811 to 1920, among them Aagaard's forest stream with a fisherman, bring the wider natural world of the age to bear on Costello's prehistoric chase.
