British Goblins

Complete and unabridged, with 30 full-page plates by Thomas Creswick, Frederick William Hayes and Arthur Hughes. Welsh fairy lore gathered on the ground by an American consul at Cardiff: the Tylwyth Teg, the corpse-candles, the goblins of the mines, and what a collier would and would not say about them. Sikes wrote it in the 1880s while the beliefs were still working ones. This edition binds thirty plates of Welsh landscape painting by Leader, Cox, Hayes and Whaite, and restores and colours all eighteen in-text illustrations.
