In the Border Country

The Scottish border on foot - Abbotsford, the abbeys, the ballad country and the men who still told the stories. Crockett was the Scott scholar of his generation and wrote this as a companion to the ground rather than to the books. This edition is bound with 59 plates of paintings by Constable, Turner, Cotman and others, and 25 illustrations restored and coloured for this printing.
