Complete and unabridged, with 60 full-page plates by Sebastiano Ricci, Michele Marieschi and Giuseppe Palizzi. Roman street legends and nursery tales collected in the city itself in the 1870s - the fables told by nurses, the stories attached to churches and fountains, the survivals of things much older. Busk took them down in Italian from the tellers. This edition is bound with sixty plates of painting, among them works by Ippolito Caffi, Giovanni Francesco Grimaldi and Francesco Bergamini, dating from 1525 to 1912.
