A Pasteboard Crown

Two sisters go on the New York stage, one with talent and one with a face, and the theater uses both. Clara Morris had been the leading emotional actress of the American stage and wrote this after her sight failed; the backstage detail is first-hand. This edition is bound with 49 plates of painting, among them works by Eva Gonzalès, Jules Bastien-Lepage and Seifū Yohei III, dating from 1810 to 1926.
