The Armourer's Prentices

Two brothers apprenticed to a London armourer in the reign of Henry the Eighth, and the trades, guilds and street quarrels of the city around them. Yonge wrote her historical novels for older children with the same care she gave the adult ones, and the armourer's shop is documented. This edition is bound with a gallery of 52 plates of paintings by George Goodwin, Samuel Sykes, John Nicholson and William McTaggart, dating from 1654 to 1920, and includes three illustrations restored and coloured for this edition.
