Traditions, Superstitions and Folk-lore

Lancashire belief and custom - the boggarts, the rush-bearing, the cures, the calendar of the farming year - collected by a Preston antiquary among mill towns that were losing it fast. This edition is bound with a gallery of 57 plates after painters including Pietro della Vecchia, Filippo Lauri and Jan Fyt, and carries a preface and index.
