"The Silent Isle" by Arthur Christopher Benson is an experimental text that attempted to create imagery of life through words. Known as a poet and an essayist, he was able to craft a book that was more of a vacation for the mind. The Silent Isle is an unreal place that exists inside Benson's mind and is used as a vessel to communicate and interpret the world, much, in the same way, a looking glass could be.
