"Better days; or, A Millionaire of To-morrow" by Anna M. Fitch and Thomas Fitch is a utopian novel in which a general strike results in the death of industrialist Lorin French. The story presents a narrative history of a gold mine owner who uses his money to start a co-op, fund urban renewal projects, and develop powerful weapons to enforce peace. Though some of the opinions may be hard to read, it's still an important work.
