The Green Fairy Book

Some forty tales from the French salons, Grimm, Spain, Russia and China: the blue bird, the half-chick, Caliph Stork, the three little pigs, the three bears, the fisherman and his wife. The green book is the third of Lang's series, and in his preface he told children it would probably be the last — they asked for more, and got nine more colours. Long French court tales sit beside two-page nursery stories, all told in the same plain voice. Its 94 original illustrations have been carefully restored and coloured for this edition.
