With the Persian Expedition

Complete and unabridged, with 60 full-page plates by Marten van Valckenborch, Jean-Léon Gérôme and Eugène Delacroix. The British force sent into Persia in 1918 to hold the road to the Caspian - the marches, the famine in Hamadan, the politics of a campaign almost nobody remembers. Donohoe was a correspondent with the column. This edition carries a gallery of 60 plates bound with the text, among them paintings by Turner, Delacroix and Gérôme, alongside 16 illustrations restored and coloured for this volume.
